Returning to Church FAQ

As we begin to return to church for in-person services, we've put together some frequently asked questions and answers which we hope will be helpful.

Which services will be meeting in person?

On Sundays currently the 9.45am and the 6.30pm services are in person, with a live stream.

Do I need to book a place?

There is currently no need to book. Where booking may be necessary we will make it very clear on our website, together with instructions.

What time should we arrive?

It would be wise to allow a little more time than usual. You will need to remain ‘socially distanced’ from other congregants.

What do we do when we arrive?

You will be asked for your name at the door to enable track-and-trace. You will not have access to any books (including bibles), all liturgy will be displayed on the screen in church. Please bring your own Bible.

What Covid precautions will there be?

Seating has been arranged to maintain social distancing. Hand gel will be available and should be used when entering the building. Please bring a face covering as these are required during the service.

What should we expect during the service?

Services will be as close to ‘normal’ as possible within the restrictions.

Can we sing?

Unfortunately, congregational singing is not allowed. We will sometimes use music videos, and on other occasions we will be sung to.

Will there be a children’s programme?

During the 9.45am service there will be provision for children in Church House garden.

Do we need to wear face coverings?

Whilst inside the church building face coverings must be worn. Children under the age of 11 are exempt.

Will we be celebrating Communion?

We are currently not allowed to distribute wine. As this is integral to the communion service we are unable to celebrate communion at present.

Will there be an offering?

As is our usual practice there will be an offering plate on the way in should you wish to use it. There will be no offering taken during the service itself.

Is there coffee after the service?

Currently we are not allowed to serve refreshments.
